My current homecall

Assigned during the call switch after the German re-unification in 1991. Due to a lot of assignments abroad for the first time active on shortwave only in 2004. Successful participation in the CQ-WPX contest CW in 2004 with a M/M entry from Goch - DF0CG, operating as a guest at the wonderful contest station built by Peter DB6JG, Jochen DH5HV, Markus DJ7EO and Thorsten DO1ET. As long as I'm in Germany I often visit DF0SAX in Dresden. There you can find some first class DXers, contesters and DXpeditioners, e.g. Klaus DL1DTL, Bernd DL2DXA, Dietmar DL3DXX, Irina DL8DYL and Ralf DL9DRA. QSL manager for this call is Günter, DL3XM. The cards can also be submitted without manager information, it's my own home club and thus, the cards will reach Günter anyway.

My current call in Bandung

Assigned 1994 in relation to my move from Medan / Sumatera to Bandung / Java. Active on shortwave for the first time in 1995. 1995 until 1999 active in many contests, e.g. several times continental winner as single operator in Oceania (1x CQ-WWDX, 1x CQ-WPX, 4x WAEDC). Fought many, many hours with tropical local noise and heavy QRM on Topband to serve the deserving. This license is put on hold since 2000 because currently I don't hold a resident visa anymore (prerequisite for a license in YB). QSL-manager for this call is Falk, DK7YY.

Former call on Sumatera

Assigned 1992 in relation to my move from Jakarta / Java to Medan / Sumatera in Indonesia. My first activity from Indonesia. There's no QSL manager anymore, after more than 10 years the log is basically closed. Sporadically some QSL-requests are still coming in, I try to handle them myself.

Last call in the former GDR

In 1989 I finally got my private license after successful participation in a enhanced training for hamradio elmers. 1990 winner of the very last East German HF-Radio-Championships as Y21RM/a from the clubstation. There are still some minor QSL-activities, sporadically some cards are coming in. Time permitting, I try to handle them myself as soon as possible.

Former call in Schkeuditz near Leipzig

Assigned 1986 after I moved from Dresden to Leipzig and from the Y54ZL club to Y41ZM (now DL0XM) in Schkeuditz. Managed by Günter (now DL3XM), this was formerly another very active contest club. I'm still a member of this club (now DARC local club with DOK S41), my home location where I'm organized in the DARC. No QSL-activities anymore for this call.

My very first call in Dresden

Assigned in October 1983 after a successful hamradio examination (Yet, I failed at the first CW test, hi). Member of the clubstation at the university, Hochschule für Verkehrswesen in Dresden. Many meanwhile well known contesters and DXers, e.g. Manfred DK1BT, Uwe DK3WW, Falk DK7YY, Dietmar DL3DXX, Mats DL4MM, Ben DL7BY, Frank DL7UFR and Klaus DL8VL, were very active at that time in Dresden, either at this clubstation (Y54ZL) or at the club of Pädagogische Hochschule Y33ZL / Y35L. We all became close friends, our relationsships lasting until today. No QSL-activities anymore for this call.
